POPSSarah Palin - Politics More Important Then Children
I was shocked when Sarah Palin accepted the Republican VP nomination. While I am a staunch believe in a woman's ability to do anything, we also have to be realistic about the needs of our children. First, I was appalled that a) Ms. Palin got on an 8 hour plane ride AFTER she started leaking amniotic fluid. That was totally irresponsible. I don't care WHAT medical resources were available on that plane, a plane is no substitute for a hospital with a neo-natal unit. Ms. Palin already knew that she was having a special needs baby - I find it incomprehensible that she would be so reckless as to take such a foolish risk. Second, Trig is less then six months old and has Down Syndrome. The time parents spend with a child during infancy is crucial to the child's development, and even more so with a child that has challenges. POPSArtic sea ice drops to 2nd lowest level on record I'm not easy to convince. A claim has to have proof - there has to be evidence, there has to be numbers, and it has to make sense. After lots of reading, lots of listening, lots of thinking, I now can say that I know global warming is real and potentially devastating. I honestly don't get why some people don't see that. I know that that most of the people that don't believe aren't stupid or evil. PLEASE stop, take another look, and reconsider the possibility that global warming is happening now and that there will be grave consequences that we need to understand. Some of us on the other side have done that for years. What if you are wrong? You should at least be able to answer that question - I can.

POPSNY in Black and White from Turn of Century This page of pics is one of the best I've seen on the Net. This just isn't a page of pictures - the creator knows history and buildings and weaves them in with the photographs. Definitely worth a look.
